Born: 1st Baby born at Shaw Field Army Air Corps Base: Sumnter, South Carolina. My father had returned from flying P-38’s in North Africa during 1943-44. First flyer to land at Salerno during invasion of Sicily. He had been shot down.
Moved to New Jersey: 1947–My Mother was from Mountainville, New Jersey. Located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey who’s county seat was Flemington. Here in 1935 the Lindbergh Baby Kidnapper Bruno Hauptman was tried and convicted.
